After 217,000 miles, it's amazing what a new windshield will do for your vision.

For a couple of years now, whenever I'd drive towards a late afternoon sun, it looked like my windshield was covered in glitter. It's gotten to the point where it's dangerously bad, so I had decided to make an investment in safety and have it replaced.

I started to set up an appointment on Safelite's website then abandoned my session. A couple of weeks later, they emailed me a $50-off coupon, so that was my cue. I had it done at their location to safe an extra few bucks by them not rolling a truck. All in, it was about $330.

I will say it's a huge weight off my back knowing I won't have to deal with that glittery view anymore. There were a couple of times where I couldn't see a damn thing. If you're on the fence about it, do it.

A big safety improvement for 330, thats not bad, im at ~116k so that is something to look into a few years from now, I know that if I just keep mine clean it still looks great in the light or at night.

Did you need to have the LDW system calibrated? I need a windshield replacement and was quoted over 600 dollars for the entire thing or get an aftermarket windshield with no calibration for like $350

Im pretty sure calibration with safelite is included or it would be unsafe, but i dont see why it needs to be calibrated, its a camera.

My insurance company paid for mine because of the hazard it is. I asked my agent to submit it even though he didn’t think they would cover it.

My accord doesn't have full coverage, so it covers no windshields. The crosstour will, so maybe they would cover it. Not sure that I want to trust some company to do it right giving me a non Honda windshield though.
