Anyone out there loosing oil? I have lost a quart in about 6,000 miles. Since the oil change @ 6000 miles, now @ 8500 miles, I've lost about 1/2 quart. The dealer says its the "valves seating". Anyone experiencing this problem?

Almost 3,500 miles since buying in early August. No oild used yet. Plus, I've bounced it off the rev limiter at least once. SO it hasn't been babied....

Mike,
No oil usage here either. If he says it's the valve seats, tell him you want a new engine. (seriously)

Fred,
Paddle shifter or at least a manual mode would be nice wouldn't it. Fiddling with the stick, and only with limited gear positions, is so passe now.

FWIW, I've 'bounced' a few times too and it seems to do no harm - indeed it's the engine's 'protection'. (tho I wouldn't want to make a habit of it;))

admitted problem

Called Honda today @ 1=800-999-1009 and they admit that there is a problem with oil loss in the Crosstour. They said that a rep will be calling me in a few days with a resolution. Lost 1 quart since oil change at 6k now 9k. Will keep the forum posted as to results. Check your oil often!

Good to hear that Honda will step up Mike. They should. That kind of oil loss is totally unacceptable.

The rep will probably want to verify with another long distance test of oil consumption/loss -- can't blame them for that, but once it's verified and the oil use is confirmed, you should be getting a new mill.

G/L with the rep. Don't take no for an answer. :)
.. and yes do tell us what happens please.

doing an oil consumption test. having the dealer check the oil every 1k miles. will keep forum posted
Good to hear, Mike. The dealer will quickly determine just how bad the consumption is and go from there.
I'm not suggesting that you would but if I were you I wouldn't 'baby' the bean during the test period.

Cheers and G/L

Checked mine today ,,,, just under 2k miles. Oil is still at the top of the stick. About half of the miles are freeway, probably driven 65-75mph at best.

Glad to hear that they are taking interest and monitoring.

Mine's the same, AD......no noticeable oil consumption at all.

Sure would like to hear about what you find. Ordered my wife's 2011 Crosstour and expect it to arrive in February. Not sure how much I would want it depending on what the issue is. :(
