Hi Folks,

I'm about to jump on an 2WD EX-L with Nav tomorrow. Out the door at 31,550. Good deal but that's another thread.

The only one in Gray that I wanted had a slight vibration/shimmy in the steering wheel. You could feel it in the seat also. Very slight, if the steering wheel was moving it was a slight side to side. (As opposed to up and down. Good road that I am familiar with ,(Interstate 85). Drove another and the vibration is not there so I know it is not indicative to the vehicle.

One last piece of info, this car has not been prepped yet, it had all the protective plastic on inside and out and 3 miles on the odometer.

Any ideas? Got burned once on a 'don't worry we'll fix it after you buy it'.

Thanks, and enjoying the info found on this sight. Been a member of ROC for years, great info and support for each other. Still have my '06 RTL too.

Ask your dealer about the vibration. It is likely something as simple as an unbalanced tire. However, a hard stop with a sudden splash through a puddle can warp rotors on the accord sedan. (this happened to me) I imagine teh same is true of the CT.

Work with the dealer. He wants to sell. You want to buy. This can be easily settled.

If it were me I'd ask for another vehicle. Share your concerns with the salesperson and make him/her understand. You should be accommodated.
If you aren't, go somewhere else.

Sorry but there should be no shimmy or anything else wrong with it and a salesperson could only guess as to whether it can be fixed easily and in a timely manner.
You're spending over $30k and should be happy from the get-go. Don't take anything less than perfection.

Thanks for the imput. I told them outright that the car was unacceptable. Two things should be happening. They can check it out with service, and they are trying to locate another Gray EXL NAV for me.

Was just curious if anyone had run into this while driving an unprepped CT and if it was something that they found quickly and corrected.

Not heard of any such issue. -- and when you think of it, it wouldn't look good for either a demo or one off the lot to exhibit such an issue.
That was a real faux-pas on their part ..........
I suspect that a previous customer whacked a curb or some such thing while on a test drive.. and it got ignored..

For them to find another, identical car is as easy as logging onto the internet.
Mine was not in stock either, and was located in a town just east of me and traded for. No problem. This occurrence is quite regular and very common practice. INdeed 'trades' happen from all over the country.

Stick to your guns -- They'll find you exactly what you want and PDQ.
You'll see........
Best of luck with your shopping experience. It won't be long b4 you'll have what you want and you'll experience this wonderful thing called CrossTour...

Cheers,

C.

Mine has no shimmy nor vibration of any kind I can tell. I would never accept a new car before it was like I want. Hassle going back to have repaired anyway. You should be able to buy car and never go back unless oil change or such...too many dealers and too many cars to take anything but perfect showroom condition. Car I bought had 285 miles because dealer did not have what I wanted and they drove it in from elsewhere, yet I feel no pain from however driver drove it due to warranty. Good luck.

Problem solved. The rear right tire needed to be 'trued' slighty. Took it out for about 20 miles and the vibration is gone. A half hour of paperwork and she is all mine.

I'll post the price and buying under the approriate threads.

Thanks to all, being a Ridgeline Owner I have appreciated the help and info that members have posted on the ROC. Hopefully the CT Club continues to grow.

I'll be a regulare and hopefully will items to offer others, and of course always appreciate others imput.

Thanks again everyone.
