Just installed a pair of switchbacks ... 60 SMD LEDs (30 white / 30 amber). It was the 2nd easiest thing I've installed on my car (I might be exaggerating things a little there, but nonetheless - it was realy REALLY easy :D)

I also installed an amber 18 SMD LED replacement for my rear turn signals, though they are not as bright as the stock incadeceent bulbs.

There is hyperflashing unfortunatly. I bought a pair of 50ohm resisters to connect across the circut for each side, but the hyperflashing was still there. When I connected both of the 50ohm resisters in a parallel circut, however, the hyperflashing went away. I know there is a calculation to determine the resistance of a circut with resistors installed parallel vs. series. I would like to know what that formula is so I can determine the proper resistance value I need to obtain for a single resister per circuit. That way I don't have all these resisters dangling down all over the place. :D

BTW.. here is a video of the switchbacks I installed:

Correction... it's not a 50ohm resistor... it's a 6ohm 50watt resistor

Update ...

Was pulled over by Houston's finest, the officer said that I didn't use my turn signal while making a lane change, when I CLEARLY did ... I spotted the HPD cruiser behind me so when I changed lanes and I took careful consideration to use my turn signal (in all honesty, I always use my turn signal - my biggest pet peeve are people who don't use proper signals, or they forget to turn them off). I explained to the officer of my certainty and he said that perhaps there is a malfunction and decided to test and inspect the blinker - when we tesated them, he agreed that they were on, but dim.

Hence I have decided to remove the rear SMD LED amber turn signal light, back to the stock incadecent lamps for safety reasons. Until ones come out with equal luminosity, I will continue to use the stock.

P.S. I still got a ticket for license restriction violation - no corrective lenses... I lost my glasses and I was planning on corrective surgery so i postponed spending money on new glasses...

Geeze, your luck is running about like mine. Here's to a better tomorrow. And thanks for letting us know the light problem, was almost ready to switch over.

Where do i buy them and about how much with the upgraded resistor
I purchased the switchbacks on eBay. I did quite a bit of research before I chose the right seller to buy it from. This is where i got it from.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0Q...emZ380241188385QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWNXQ3aIT

After you install it, switch on your turn-signal to test ... If if flashes white - then you need to reverse the connection. [I do not recommend installing with the lights on, or flashing - as it could short and blow a fuse].

BTW Installation was VERY EASY!

As for the 'Load Resistors' to prevent hyper-flashing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0Q...emZ400111712009QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWNXQ3aIT

I bought these because they came with wire taps - So I wouldn't have to strip the wire myself. I installed them in the REAR tail lights because there; you'll find the most room to install them [plus the load works better if it's furthur from the main circuit].

The resistor has a heat-sink and must make contact to metal to transfer the heat. DO NOT LET IT MAKE CONTACT TO ANY PLASTIC OR RUBBER AS IT WILL MELT IT. I used a single self tapping ¼" x ¾" sheet metal screw (no washers) to mount the resistor to the body of the car.

ALSO IMPORTANT: try to make the connection as close to the base of the conduit feed as possible... you need LOTS of play on the wires for you to put the rear tail-light back on [you may need to extend the wires if the ones supplied to you are too short]. Make the connection between the + and - of the amber turn signal light. There is no polarity on the resistor so it doesn't matter which end you make the connection to.

I'll try to post photos of the finished installation if I can.

Yeah, it was the REAR turn signals they didn't see.. with only 18 SMD's.. it's not as bright as the 30 SMD's that I have in the front. Plus at the time I had not resolved the hyper-flashing issue, and the fact that it was day-light out - only served to exacerbate the situation.

So I replaced the rear LEDs with the OEMs, but I kept the front switchbacks and corrected the hyper-flashing.
