Seatbelt Help!!!!!

Ok, I am needing ideas here!!! My kids, 5 and 7 are still in booster seats. So when they pull their seat belts over and try to click it into the lock, the lock is flimsy and gets pushed into the seat!!! My son, especially, can just lose his mind!! He pulls it out where he can see it, but when he tries to lock it, it's gone! The way the boosters are set up, it's hard for them to hold the locking part and push in the belted part. I know, I know. My kids have been spoiled with the Odyssey! The van is all they've ever known, so this is quite a change.
So, anyway...I didn't know if anyone knew of a solution...maybe a "stiffener" of the locking part, like in the Ridgeline rear seats. The kids can easily lock the belt into those!!
Thanks for your help!!

I have a solution - I lock my kids myself. In this case I'm sure 100% they are secured.
Yes, I understand that is a solution. But my kids have been doing their own belts for quite a while when we had the Odyssey. I was hoping there would be an addition to the locking mechanism to keep it stiff.
Guess I'm being a lazy parent...
I would try to ask my husband to figure something out. Probably the piece of plumbing pipe would do it - make a cut and just insert. Probably will look ugly but it will hold the lock sticking out.
I would contact your local dealer and see if it's possibly to install the ridgeline buckles that have the plastic surround. Or any other Honda vehicle.

***Disclaimer*** It is illegal to modify ANY safety equipment (i.e. air bags, seatbelts, etc) in an automobile. The seatbelts were designed and tested in a particular manner, and any modification to that design may result in failure and may cause serious injury or death.

Me and a few friends found out that even though we installed and strictly use racing harnesses in our race/street cars, that in order to keep them street legal, we HAVE to leave the factory seatbelt installed.

Same law in Ontario

Good advice above, do not alter anything in the safety system, and sorry I have no solution to offer.

But please thank your husband for me for his service, and thank you and your family for your sacrifices.
