First impressions of the Nav system are, yes it works pretty slick and is quite easy to input info once you get the hang of it......but.....unless you're near a large urban center, it's pretty limited....my old $200 garmin has much more up-to-date map info and works better.....I'm in Nanaimo BC on Vancouver Island (86000 pop) and my street and house (5yrs old) isn't on it....the nearest main street is classified as (un-verified) and it's probably been there for at least 25 years.....so when I chart a route it will always go via the nearest "verified" streets which usually turns out not to be the optimal route.....even the dealer told me that if you type in a Vancouver address, (30mi. by ferry) the NAV will send you 1 1/2 hr. to Victoria to catch a ferry from there when there is one that goes to Vancouver from right here in Nanaimo
so....I'm totally surprised that for $2000 extra and what I thought was a proven system turns out so bad....
...(enjoying the rest of the car though:))

I have a Kenwood touchscreen nav system in my mustang, and I find it much more user friendly than the Honda system, or any OE system for that matter. The voice activation is nice, but when we tell the name of a place, it searches the entire northern hemisphere, without asking us what city, or "near me" or anything. I hope the updates will correct some of this.

Using ours for the first time today we had it chart a course to our home from across town it plotted a "round about way" home we were surprised it didn't use major streets and shorter route. I am kind of concerned about where it's going to take me if I'm on a trip in an unfamiliar area.

yes, I've been "testing" ours from time to time locally, just to see how it does....Last night we went to a restaurant across town and I certainly didn't agree with the route, but it at least got us there....

Yeah maybe I was a little too unforgiving, you get used to driving a particular route to get to places even though there could be a dozen different was to go. So far I guess I'm very happy with the car except for the trim that goes across the back window and blocks your view. don't know what they were thinking there...

I haven't had any issues with the little spoiler piece blocking anything significant in my view. Unless a pancake is following me, I can see anything that's behind me.

The little spoiler combined with my height (6'-6") makes it so that at night I cannot see the headlights of the car immediately behind me - very disconcerting. I am forcing myself to look 2 or 3 times in different mirrors before making any moves.

I'm still getting used to not having a trunk, and having to realize that cars aren't tailgating me, and then it totally flips when I hop into my F250 with an 8' bed lol.

Now you tell me the Nav is weak! I picked up our CT yesterday. Got the Nav as much for the back-up camera as for Nav. Oh well!

I really need a decent nav when visiting the kids in southern Kalifornia,

I'd have to revise my original opinion on the Nav....it's not as bad as I first thought....Since I've had the car and have been testing it for a few months, it seems to be getting my places fairly well....tip: Disable the "breadcrumbs" in the Nav's options menu....that way it will route you even though it may be "unverified" areas rather than just drawing a dotted line in the direction of the nearest verified point....
I also quite like the way you enter data and search criteria.

Maybe it's me, but I can only get map icons to show up on the "directional" screens that come up if you're navigating to a destination. For example, gas stations show up next to the directional arrows when you're approaching an intersection, but if you're not navigating, they never show up on the main screen regardless of the zoom setting. Also can't find wineries on POI's. Amazing. Anybody have any clues?

Lucky for me I've got an innate sense that attracts me to all wineries automatically...no need for Nav. here<G>...
...I'll have to check mine as I too live near many wineries, but, you're probably right....I've also noticed that it's hard to find liquor stores with GPS units....darn!

Truly crappy Nav.

I finally made a decent road trip to California, and must say for what the factory Nav system costs, I feel SCREWED!!!! I think it is really VERY weak - closed businesses, needless U-turns, too many areas off-track, limited route selections, etc. I'm REALLY sorry I paid extra for this POS!!!!!!!!!
