been looking all over for some side view or any good shots of crosstour w/ a roof rack-- I feel like that will be the juice I need to drive me over the edge and send me to a honda dealer.
Thanks!

Tom,

Just a personal opinion but I thought the look of the roof rack destroyed the lines of the car. To me it looked like Bullwinkle with wheels.

The dealer offered me one with a pile of add-ons, was going to give them to me if I took the car. I told him to take the rack off. They checked with the Service/ body people and the manager told me that they would never take it off as they could damage the car doing so.

In this situation I give their explanation some credence. I'm willing to buy the car if they take it off. They were not going to charge me for it. ( I was looking at another one one the lot exactly the same less the rack but with a vibration, and had already set the price) All they had to do was remove it and we had a deal.

I guess the take away is that if you would ever be inclined to remove the rack you might want to clarify if it is in fact removable.

Hope this helped, and good luck with it all. Let us know what you decide.
Cant' find any decent pics on the Internet. There was a green CT up a the dealership where I bought mine. If it is still there I'll photograph it and post.

I think the roof rack looks spiffy. Might snag one off eBay if they go low enough and install it myself.

The Honda roof rack is removable according to the Honda website: http://automobiles.honda.com/accord-crosstour/accessory-detail.aspx?Accessory=ACCOR10109
Hmmm, I agree - not so complimentary.

I saw the roof rack on a dark green CT and it looked good :-$
Thanks for the clarification. I just thought it was so odd, and they were throwing the rack in the deal. But they were insistent that it would cause damage to remove it.

Strange. Thanks again Ian.
ooh nice find on the ebay sale, I did google searches as well and just couldn't find anything

I love roof racks in general on any car, except for VWs & maybe now crosstour... actually it's not that bad at all, but tough choice between suburu outback in my head
Roof racks should be other direction and across the auto...looks funky otherwise

I don't think you'd go wrong with either the Outback or the Crosstour. Get the one that you like the best. I understand that the Outback has a better 4wd system than the Crosstour but I think the the Crosstour looks better.

My friend has a Subaru Forrester. I know it's not an Outback, but it's very nice anyway. Still, I like the looks of the Crosstour better. I'm starting to ramble. I must be tired.

roof racks

Saw the car with roof racks and told the dealer we didn't want them. No problem they were removed before we purchased the vehicle. Had a vehicle with roof racks in the past, Toyota RAV 4. It made a lot of road noise on the highway. Hope this was helpful.
CT, Blk/Blk, EXL, 4WD with add ons
