A lot of people have complained about the poor rear vision in the Crosstour. While it's true that the rake of the rear window makes backing up dicey, the backup camera more than makes up for that "flaw." While driving and lane-changing, though, there is no problem, so long as you adjust your mirrors correctly. Mine are, and there are no blind spots. Basically, you adjust them so that when a car leaves your sight in the rearview mirror, it immediately appears in the side mirror. That will require the side mirrors to be adjusted turned way out, but it's worth it.

I agree.

Also, just plane old situation awareness... checking your mirrors on a regular basis and keeping a mental track of the cars around you go a long way to preventing accidents.

Can you still see the curb when backing up when the side mirrors auto tilt down? I usually do a double take when changing lanes. I hardly ever use my rear view mirror either, unless I'm looking out for cops.

I back in everywhere and I try to park so that my right side is against the curb and the side mirror tilt down helps tremendously. If you can't, you just need to adjust the mirror enough so that when it tilts you can see the top of the curb.
