Hello all.

I have a 2011 EXL AWD with the common shudder at 70mph and the 35-40 shudder is getting progressively worse. Mine has 126k on it...I bought it in 2014 with 24k on it.
Is it pretty much a settled fact that the issue will be the drive axles? I've read most of the forum posts and this seems to be the most common diagnosis.
Thanks for any help!

I'd also like to hear from anyone who found the silver bullet with the shudder issue. I've got a 2011 with about this same amount of miles, bought two years ago at 85K. Didn't notice any shudder when I test drove, then became noticeable about a year ago.

Searched these forums, but haven't found anyone who's chimed in with a solution that's proven permanent. I've seen everything from a new torque converter, a vcm muzzler, bearings, and axles, but no one has said if the fix was the PERMANENT solution.

Anyone out there??

I'll let you know after 9/6 when my install is done.
I've just read about the possibility of the propeller shaft bushing. Going to have the mechanic look at that when he does the drive axles. Just what I need... trial and error.

I am thinking about buying a used 2010 and being an old car salesman, I could feel it even though no one else could. The seller said :
Font Material property Screenshot Parallel Number

I am trying to decide if I should buy it. I want to use it to travel with my pup.

I have the same model/year and had the engine mount bracket and both front axles replaced. Fortunately I had this done just before my 100k warranty expired. The car is now at 182k miles and still in great shape.

Excellent! If you remember, how did they figure it was the front axles? I got the control arms (akaengine mount brackets?) replaced, and it made zero improvement. It was also suggested that the engine mount be replaced too, but I'm skeptical.

I'm about to replace all rotors and brake pads with EBC kits (slotted rotors and Yellow Stuff pads). Hopefully that fixes the rotor issue for good.

I had the drive axles replaced yesterday, 9/6. The shudder is completely gone! I bought new but not OEM for $285. Took it to a local repair shop with all 5 star reviews. He charged me $165 for the install. I could not be happier.
Excellent dgilbert6872! But did the mechanic say anything about the propeller shaft bushing?
