I'm considering removing the plastic cover from the engine and swapping the the intake manifold with the one from an accord v6 sedan. I know its possible because a bunch of guys on the sedan forum did a swap to put the plastic CT cover on their sedans. I just like the way the engine bay on my sedan looked a little better. My laptop is getting repaired right now so I don't have any pics of my old engine bay but here is a pic from the honda website. With the K&N CAI it would look even sicker. What do you guys think

You mean just the intake man. cover, or would it mean the whole intake manifold?
I too like the engine area of my '06 Accord tho it wasn't quite a 'pretty' as the later 3.5's.
Not sure I'd want to chance changing the intake bits for a new cover but to each his own. Kudos to you for doing it tho be careful since some shops would jump all over you is there's a problem.
Having said that, I've changed the intake out for the K&N you meantioned and love it. Just the intake woke up the sound somewhat and gave it a subtle growl (on acceleration). Prob a few ponies (it promised 10) but can't tell since it's such a small increase.

Here's a couple pics of the intake installed on the CT and the thread explaining its install:

Sorry,
I meant the cover not the whole intake manifold they're the same I believe lol. I found a video from college hills honda "upgrading" the accord sedan engine cover to the CT engine cover. I think the purpose of the cover is to reduce engine noise. A lot of the sedan owners try to do swaps or upgrades based on the CT ie shifter, wood trim, even the roof rack lol. Anyways heres the link:

Playing the video backwards would give you the then result I'm looking for lol

Is that a SRI or CAI? My knowledge is very limited on the subject but my friends CAI is on the bottom by the bumper and My brother has an SRI on his lancer and it looks more like your engine. Do you have any video of the sound the intake makes? That engine bay looks sick btw.

Thanks for the ups......Typhoon CAI, and I really like it. No recording sorry no way of doing it but believe me, I sounds awesome. Gives acceleration a real growl, but not intrusive and doesn't upset wifey. Quiets down on level cruising.

The partitions keep it reasonably cool so as not to suck in much hot air.
The system isn't cheap ($400 Canadian) but well worth it.

Your friend's CAI must have an extension on it for a remote inlet for very cool intake. The Injen kit I had on my G35Coupe had the snout on it for down low cool inlet.

The K&N Typhoon is a carryover from '09 that fits the '10 CT but not much else available yet.
