Has anyone experienced any leaking in the back? A few times now I open the rear hatch and there will be water sitting in the floor tray (plastic liner accessory). I can’t see any visual spots, and the seal looks good as well. I can’t see water coming from the seal area, as is should drain around the door hatch body channel. Maybe the window?

Always helps if you tell us the year of your CT.

Let me ask a few questions:

What year is your car?
How many miles on it?
What state do you live in? Hot or cold state?
Is the vehicle garaged or out in the sun all day?
Does the weatherstripping feel hard, soft or smooth?

Normally the next step would be to go through a car wash with someone tucked in the back so that they can determine where the water is leaking. Sometimes a sunroof can disguise itself as a rear hatch leak.

I would also suggest that you wipe down the seal with a moist rag and also where the seal comes in contact with the metal. Then let dry. Then apply a very very very light schmear of Olive Oil to the seal. Wipe off any excess.

Well we got some pretty good rain yesterday, which initially showed nothing. However, this morning I found a small puddle again. I did some wiping with my bare hand and found excess water in the speaker looking grate in the passenger side, near the handle that drops the seats to flat folding. (Definitely not the subwoofer). Is this supposed grate a speaker, or some sort of vent? I may go with a seal first because the car is 8 years old, hot as hell in Florida, and may be more beat that I can see.

Any other suggestions?

2013 CT EX here in MD. Not sure if it is related but I had a similar sounding issue on mine. I was getting water pooling up under the rear driver side seat.I started noticing salt deposits on the seat during the winter months. I did all the checks of blockage around he sunroof, drainage in the trunk, etc. Dealer had a “water leak specialist” come out and check it. At first they called it a vapor shield issue and I paid $200+ to repair it. It continued the next winter, this spring I had it looked it at again and they determined it was a bad seal around fuel door that was allowing water into that area. Replaced it under the HondaCare warranty. No further issues thus far. They did a terrible job of putting the housing back together in the trunk area but no leaks. Just food for thought.

I believe I found the problem! Big rainstorm today, so I knew there would be water in the back. I did some searching around and found the windshield washer hose grommet sticking out of its hole. Sad part is, I believe I found this awhile back and didn’t think much of it at the time. I almost bought a new hatch seal Friday night but didn’t, so I will see if this does the trick!!

Same thing here. Under drivers rear seat damp and rusty. So this has been going on for sometime. When I find out whats going on I post the results. I'll start with the areas posted here.

I just found it today. I noticed the seat belt looked a little odd (white ) so i pulled on the seat for a look and I could see the rust.

I know this is old, hopefully one of you is still active here and can help me. I just bought a 2015 101,000 miles and this morning after 1/3" snow/ice rain I saw some drips on the passenger side of my hard trunk mat, saw no where for it to come in, and while the trunk is slightly misaligned a few mm to the left the seal is tight, I came back a few hours later no new rain since then and there is more water, and I noticed a wet spot on the right side of the trunk carpet as shown in my photo, is this where the water was coming from for you when you discovered it was the washer fluid hose seal? My seal there seems very tight but maybe water is still getting in through there?

I’m having a leak in the same spot as you on both sides Ang. Have you been able to get it figured out?

Yes, it's the washer fluid hose. Get some clear Silicone seal or whatever at Walmart and put some around the rubber seal where it goes into the body and that will stop it. Mine still looks white because either the GE one I used that claims to dry clear is junk or the cold made it not dry right, so I'll be replacing it in the spring. Hopefully it just holds in the winter. My only concern now would be if any damage has been done internally from water getting there I assume for 7 years.

I am in leak hell. I bought a 2011 Crosstour EX L two months ago. The first issue was a parasitic battery drain that was fixed after two trips to the dealer and 3-4 weeks there. There also proved to be quite a leak flooding the left carpet panel above the plastic tray in the hatch. Honda dealer stated they did extensive leak testing, blue dye, the works and determined it to be not the seal but the resin that holds the glass in place. My husband had meticulously placed notes in the truck indicating where the water was dripping from the grate that appeared to be speaker grate (don't believe it's actually a speaker, but could be wrong.) Dealer does not do glass work so brought back home still with issue. Now, an interesting turn of events.....we had a torrential downpour and water in trunk is minimal, however, we find water soaking the carpet under driver's seat. What the what??? I've read everything I can find in the forums....washer fluid gasket is in place, sunroof drains are free and running appropriately. I've read some very scary things about expensive wheel well issues so praying that's not it. Can anyone share their insight and help talk me off the ledge?

Left side of trunk I hear is wheel well, there is a small seam weld that can be made defective and eventually break open to let water open. There was a video of someone removed the trunk liner and poured water and it was pouring out above the tire somewhere. Two people have reported water coming through the firewall above the pedals but I can't say if that's really Hondas fault or not

Rain was blowing sideways, straight and every which way and the trunk was barely damp this time, surprisingly, but I'll take it. The soaked carpet under the driver's side is now my main concern. This is under the seat, not in the floorboard. Any takers on this?

Could be the firewall like I said? Maybe it's just going down instead of spraying into wiring and your foot?

I had a problem a couple years ago with my radio not working. It turns out that the drains for the sun/moonroof were clogged causing the water to overflow onto the radio receiver (which is located in the trunk... who'd of thunk?). I would get the moonroof drain lines checked.
