I want to upgrade my sound system in the Crosstour. I have been throwing the idea around and can someone with some audio knowledge help me please? Ok I was looking at the following subwoofer to put in the little cargo area that sits above the tire, or against the back wall? Im not an expert about car audio, but I want to buy good stuff, I do not want to put junk in my car! Please check out the following link of a JL Audio Sub, and tell me if its good to put in?

and this amp....

Not 100% sure on 2/3/4 CH amps, but I think this one is ok to pair with the sub.

Please tell me what you think.....THANKS GUYSS

The amp is not a sub amp. Look at "Class D" amps. They are specifically for subs. If you go to a good shop, they can pull your stock sub and make a fiberglass enclosure for the 8" that will tuck in the stock location. The most challenging part will be mounting the amp in an area that is out of the way.

I've owned JL, Punch, Kicker, Alpine, Focal, and Diamond audio. I recommend Diamond Audio for the sub. They sound GREAT and need very little room to perform well. This one is an 8 that only needs .5ft2 ported. That's barely larger than the magnet. Perfect for this kind of tight install.

Here's an amp that will work great. It'll provide plenty of power and shouldn't have any issues overheating

With a properly made box at .5ft2 filled with packing on that amp, you will have great sound at low volumes with very clean response, and still have the ability to rattle the hatch a bit when you want to act like you're 16 again.

It's really all in how much space you want to take up and how obvious you want your system to be when you look in the hatch area. I personally prefer to "hide" as much stuff as I can. When you go with something like that, it will need to be securely mounted in some way, and that tends to cause problems with taking up a LOT of storage space really fast.

Ryan but in terms of quality and what I'm getting for the money...Do you think that is a good price for 239.99?

You're getting a nice package. Nothing crazy, nothing too basic, just right in the middle. So yeah, it's a good price.

ok well I read their return policy and it was fine for me. I actually ended up going with this set instead. It has newer amp and sub with darker grey carpet which I like. I will be posting pictures when I get it installed which my LED's for interior which I never put up.

Have you looked into the Alpine's digital amplifier line? They have a 5 channel amp which should have more than enough power to power all of your speakers. If you are planning to replace the other speakers in your Crosstour, one thing to consider is whether or not you want tweeters of the "soft dome based" variety or those that are more "titanium based" These days it seems like titanium tweeters are the easiest to find. Probably the best subwoofer I've ever used was the Boston Acoustic Pro series. I had a pair of the 8.4lf's. They needed a very small box and with a Rockford Fosgate Punch 40 it hit really hard.
