My wife's black Crosstour got hit in front of her office on Saturday afternoon.
It's a small 8 car pull straight in lot in front of some retail shops (She is a realtor) on a coastal CT village road. She was in the back printing out some copies and had no idea until she got home and I saw the damage when she backed into the driveway.
Someone clipped her while obviously backing up with their probable front fender hooking her passenger side fender area. We were in shock when I saw the fender popping out right at the seam between the body molding and fender molding. There were 3 nice sized scrape marks on the fender/bumper and a small crease (about 1 1/2" H by 3" long and maybe 1/4" deep).
I was able to push the fender together at the seam and pulled it up and out to be completely back to shape...Thank Goodness because that was the scariest part of the damage. The crease/dent is almost reachable with my hand but not sure if it can be rubbed out.
The scrapes are definitely noticeable and I don't know if those can be buffed and the plastic type material re-applied or not?
Anyone know if you can sand or buff out the scrapes and then spray on or brush on the black plastic composite material the fender and bumper are made of?
We called the police and they filled out a report and we checked with the other retail shops but nobody saw anything. There are security cameras in another parking area but not on this lot unfortunately. The wife is so bummed that her 5 week old car that she loves so much was damaged by some jerk who criminally hit and ran. Some people are such a$$holes.
