looks nice, i sort of want to do it. not sure if i ever will xD
took only 5 min, using some waxed dental floss
I'd miss my "4WD" badge. For some reason, I'm proud of that.

Looks good...now if there was only a way to get rid of the H...also still waiting for some sort of grill replacement that might get the front H off too...(I know that's not too likely since aftermarket grill companys take care not to peeve the automakers by hiding or replacing their emblems)...I had a '04 Hyundai Sonata for which I found a great replacement grill that had no emblem and looked far better than the stock grill...it was cheap too, and took 10 min. to remove the old one and install the new one....
thats the only reason i havent debadged my whole car cuz of the 4wd =)
When they see the hatch passing them in a foot of snow people should figure that one out.

The grill is getting plasti koted this weekend; going stealth.

Could you expand more on this process?...Does this mean you'll hide or remove the H symbol somehow?
Looks good clean like that. I wonder what it takes to get some aftermarket badges.
I put a curt trailer hitch on tonight, it took me over an hour and a half. I'll put up pics tomorrow. As for the plasi Kote, its for the front. I'll remove the grille prime with plastic primer then finish with four coats of flat black plast kote on the grille(if wifey gives me a minute). All the rear badges come off with dental floss, non-mint flavor...
I've been thinking of cleaning things up myself. I like the look. I bet an Acura "A" would fit nicely somewhere, just to keep 'em guessing!!

Dang, all we have is mint flavor, guess I'll have to wait until we use it up and get the non-mint floss.

I don't think it makes a difference as long as it is waxed floss. I am guessing you use it as a blade of sorts to cut through the glue holding the emblems on? How about the residual glue? How do you get it off Rabbi?

a bit of WD40 is good for removing decals and/or residual glue/sticky stuff...and it's now available in a sort of felt-tipped pen thing that's really slick to use....
I think I am going to buy a replacement grill and do work work on it.
Just a couple of hundred for the part I think.
Looking at the grill...I think if the center emblem and the part of the grill that supports it were gone...and then the cross bars just joined straight across (maybe epoxy and bondo)...
Then the whole thing painted and the "chrome" bits transfered from the original grill....
that might look pretty good.
I dont really mind the general idea if that grill...it's just the bulbous center H and its backing structure that bug me.
I think the design team probably came up with the grill...and then the marketing overlords tacked on that H.
Rework original grill base.

If you can make that work, I think the results will be amazing. Maybe you could even start making them and selling them.
You can also remove the sticky part with 3M adhesive remover. If have trouble with get the floss to cut try soaking the badge with the 3M and then start the cutting process again.
