When backing up, about an inch or so along the bottom of the nav screen I see what appears to be the rear bumper(?). Is this normal, or does my camera need to be adjusted?

That's normal, that way you can actually see the bumper itself. I prefer being able to see it over the many cars that don't allow you too. Makes it much easier when parallel parking in a tight spot.

Thanks. I checked it again at lunchtime and, besides the bumper, I see a black area covering the lower right corner of the screen. I'll have to check if something is in the way.

The camera lens spec states 170 degrees of viewing. It would be darn hard to get the bumper out of the view with that degree of coverage.

I like the 170 degrees not only because it shows the bumper, but the almost everything around the back of the car. I was pulling out of parking one day where I was surrounded by huge SUV's. I couldn't see anything. I creeped out and noticed that I can see "around" the SUV using the backup camera when my bumper was slightly past the SUV's, and saw the cars coming around the corner. It was pretty handy.

I've also scared a lot of people using the camera. I could get really close and know exactly where I am because I see the bumper. I've been hysterically honked at because people thought that I didn't see them.

Backup camera problem

I have a 2010 crosstour. Visibility on the back camera was a nice clear view. However, in the last few months, I have about an inch on the bottom of the view that is all black.

Dealer says this is normal. Does anyone have any answers as to why the view has changed?

on my 2013 there are three different, selectable views on the rear camera. on the side camera, only one.
Right, Thomas. But we pre-2013 owners do not have that luxury, unfortunately. And, the local Honda service department in Jacksonville, NC says it cannot be adjusted. Odd to me that Honda has any type of factory installed unit which is not repairable or, in this case adjustable.
