Any Flat Tires Yet?

Well, I got my first flat tire on the CT. 18K in and I ran over a nail which rendered the stock Michelin as "non-repairable". It cost me $295 for a new Michelin, which was very, very, difficult to find because of the size (I have the EXL 4WD) to replace, mount and balance.
I thought for sure there was some kind of "warranty" on the tires, even if it were from Michelin rather than Honda but nope, nothing.
I wonder why that is?
On the plus side, Roadside Assistance was there 20 minutes after I called them, the dealership dug deep and found the 1 tire of that size and make in Manitoba (or I would of had to wait 6 days for 1 to be sent from Ontario) and the CT looks like new.
What I would like to know is, does anyone know of a tire manufacturer/dealer (in Canada) which offers a warranty, pro rated or not, on tires which become "non-fixable"? When I buy winter tires this may impact my decision....after all $295 a hit is a big chunk of change.

Let me know....

Thanks.

You should get a tire warranty at most tire shops when you buy a new tire from them. For instance if you go to Canadian Tire and buy 4 new tires you'll be covered for free flat repairs at any Canadian Tire for the life of the tire (void if tire is put on different vehicle or vehicle is sold to another person). If the tire is not repairable your cost will be based on amount of wear on the tire. This is based on my time at Canadian Tire about 8-10 years ago but if I remember correctly this was a pretty standard warranty anywhere you bought tires. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to the tires on a new car. If you buy your tires online you can save a lot of money but I don't think you get the warranty (don't quote me on that it's only an educated guess)

P.S. this is not an advertisement for Canadian Tire!!!
So no major brand has a better warranty than another?
My brother purchased a 5 year road hazard tire warranty when he bought his accord coupe. Anything happens to the tire, it gets replaced. They usually offer the option when they're offering all the warranties and such at the closing.
Interesting....I'll have to check with the Dealer and see if they offer that in Canada.

I'm also thinking about....I purchased the locking lug nuts from Honda with the car but never got the 4 original lug nuts back, Did anyone else?:confused::confused:

Didn't get the lockers with my CT, weren't included and I didn't bother with them.
Had I got them I would have made sure the originals were returned.

We just picked up our new Fiesta and got the 4 'extra' nuts with the key in the locknut package, so our Ford dealer didn't forget.:)

I'm sure your dealer will be glad to rustle up 4 for you.
