Hi everyone - we picked up our AWD Ex-L last week and I'm debating whether to throw snow tires on it. Problem is the 18" snows are pretty pricey starting at 140/tire plus taxes, shipping, and then mounting/dismounting yearly. We have a prius with dedicated snows/wheels and it's still a hassle in terms of timing here in Connecticut....In April it gets up to 60s and then drops to 20 the next week! At the same time they make a huge traction/braking difference in the snow.

Has anyone purchased anything other than snow tires for their crosstour or other vehicles? I just bumped into these SnoClaws things online and they look promising. Chains would be nice for sporadic ultra icy conditions or large storms. The ground clearance on our Prius just isn't there so this will end up being the "storm" car. Any help appreciated!
