Very simple modification to avoid messin with pulling out your air filter. As picture shows just read level to show how much your filter is stopped up. In driving rain or following close behind another vehicle in rain the installed air filter will soak up water in air flow and pull 'minder' down, so just push button on end and will reset to 100% or after chainging filter. Bought mine at Amazon for 24 bucks but they have gone up to $32, WIX has one cheaper for 18 bucks:

K&N: K&N 85-2445
WIX: Wix 24801

Now, that's pretty nifty.
Actually I’ve had one on my truck for a few years and the CT now ( K&N filter) since they can go thousands of miles between (50K+?) changes and not knowing when to change without pulling filter or by manual, but I found out it comes in handy to see when my wife “gets on it.” Good money spent since I found that I was changing air filter way too often and now don’t with same results saving on initial cost of minder.

Do you have to drill a hole in the airbox?

I'm weird and would most likely go for K&N filter because of the reputation.
