Default Trailer Wiring Harness

Has anyone had an issue with a non-OEM wiring harness not receiving power. I got a Curt Connector (item number 56008) from etrailer with my hitch and it would not receive any power. Tried disconnecting all connections, battery, swapped fuses. I've ordered an OEM connector now but I'm worried there's a wiring issue within the car itself and a bad wire. I hate electrical work and don't want to dig around for a bad wire.

Hi Brizzey. I, personally, haven't dealt with this but I understand that's it's often the case that non-OEM kits aren't as straightforward as we'd like. It's a far cry from the old days when we'd simply tap a couple of wire to wire up our harnesses. I think you're on the right track with a kit from Honda.

I might have just been dumb. When I was putting in the aftermarket kit I looked up where the fuse went in the box under the hood, not what size. Since the kit came with a 10 Amp fuse that's what I used, turns out its actually a 15 Amp that's called for. I didn't notice this until I was putting in the Honda kit and saw the different fuse. Works now though

Super. What matters is that you have it working, Brizzzey. Great job.
