Unhappy interior drivers's side fuse box

I need to check a fuse for the fuel pump. It is located inside the drivers side interior fuse box. I can't find the fuse box. I am told that it is left of the steering column, but I don't see it. Please tell me how to find it and get it open.

Pretty sure you can find it when you open the drivers door. The drivers door almost touches it when the door is closed. See if this helps. Again, only pretty sure.

I find it a pain in the ass to work in the fuse box without pulling the lower dash panel out. You can just grab the bottom of the panel and first pull the left side out and then go over to the other side of the steering wheel. When the top comes loose, you just rotate it down and the lift it up to disengage the two hooks that mate to the dash assembly,
