To the left of the "Quote" button there should be a similar button that says "Edit."
I'll do some digging, but I believe we set it to post count. I believe it was instituted around the time we had to make Classified section rules. It may have also just become an issue for new members since the serveers had some issues a little while back.

in my experience... the editing button is "timed" more or less... you can only edit your post for a few minutes or so after actually posting it. If you come back a few hours later or the next day... the "edit" button is no longer there.
There is a time limit placed on editing posts. It is to protect the integrity of the content on the site and unfortunately, it is a site-wide option (i.e. I cannot program it for just one section of the site).
